Meet the team behind Maharlika
The people who help turn your travel ideas into trips worth remembering.
Jyosh Polea-Vizcarra
Jyosh Polea-Vizcarra is an entrepreneur, businesswoman and community leader with more than a decade of experience in business leadership, entrepreneurship and building strong, lasting relationships with clients, teams and business partners.
Originally from the Philippines, Jyosh has called Australia home for more than three decades. After spending over 20 years in New South Wales, she made Tasmania her home almost a decade ago. Her journey across both states has shaped her approach to business, leadership and the importance of genuine connections.
Jyosh is also a passionate community leader and former President of Philippines-Australia Community of Tasmania, Inc. (PACT), where she contributed to strengthening connections within the Filipino-Australian community and supporting cultural and community initiatives across Tasmania.
Her entrepreneurial journey has taught her that successful business is built on trust, attention to detail and understanding people. She believes good leadership is about listening, being dependable and creating an environment where people feel valued and supported. These values are at the heart of HotelsNFlights Maharlika.
Jyosh founded Maharlika with a simple vision — to make travel planning more personal, straightforward and enjoyable. Whether it is a family holiday, business trip, group adventure or a well-deserved getaway, Maharlika aims to provide honest advice, carefully considered options and personalised support throughout the journey.
While Maharlika has a special connection to the Philippines through its name and heritage, its vision reaches far beyond one destination. The goal is to connect travellers with flights, accommodation, tours and experiences across Australia and around the world.
For Jyosh, Maharlika is more than a travel business. It is about creating opportunities to explore, reconnect, experience new places and make lasting memories.
“Travel is about more than getting from one place to another. It is about the experiences, the people you meet and the memories you bring home.”
Laila Dalmacio
Originally from the Philippines, Laila moved to Australia in 2014 and has called Tasmania home since 2018.
Laila is a proud owner of two Jim's franchises — Jim's Cleaning Derwent Park and Jim's Carpet Cleaning Sorell — and also works as a Business Support Officer with a local government agency. Her background in education, government and business has given her strong communication, customer service and people skills.
An entrepreneur at heart, Laila has experience across a number of businesses and enjoys sharing her knowledge and helping others recognise their potential.
Laila is also actively involved in the Philippine-Australian community in Tasmania, where she enjoys connecting people, sharing opportunities and supporting others.
A passionate traveller, Laila loves discovering new places, experiencing different cultures and meeting people along the way. She is particularly passionate about helping families create opportunities to travel, reconnect and make lasting memories.
Laila joined Maharlika because she believes travel is about more than simply visiting a destination — it's about people, experiences, connections and creating opportunities.
She is excited to be part of the Maharlika journey and looks forward to helping more travellers turn their holiday ideas into memorable experiences.
